A Mother A Child
© 2008 Eileen Carr Music
It's Christmas and we open our gift of the divine birth with A Mother A Child. Eileen Carr's new compilation of four traditional carols in addition to Latin hymns off her groundbreaking CD Pax. A Mother A Child also features "A Mother A Child" written by Terry Piontkowski, a new and graced song of our waiting, our advent.
It all happened in New York! A Mother A Child was born under the direction of Justin Matley a wildly talented producer and sound design engineer at Sound Lounge in Manhattan. Eileen's husband and favorite guitar player Greg Fitting joined in the production along with Jason Schwartz and Kevin Jacoby on bass.
We are privileged and gifted to be a part of the mission to go and tell. Yes, He lives... Yes, He is the answer to a suffering world. A Mother A Child, a Christmas gift...

Just imagine the beauty of Latin Hymns failing to reach the ears of the 21st century. Possible? yes, but with the diligence and talent of musicians such as the lovely Eileen Carr, the threat of the music falling into obscurity has been postponed for at least one more generation. Provoking, inspirational, and entrancing, Eileen Carr's voice replicated the solemn beauty and haunting resonance of music centuries old, while using modern day instrumental technology arranged by Terry Sweet to enhance the beauty of her voice and the music itself.
The music she sings so beautifully has been released on the CD "PAX" which means "peace" in Latin, the mother tongue of all romantic languages. Carr, no stranger to music as a whole outside her genre, has had a successful career in pop, theater, and commercials. After taking time off to raise her family she felt that while a comeback was inevitable, she wished to do something off the well-traveled path, something that would make a lasting, meaningful impression on the world of music. Wishing to bring back peace to what she considered a hectic, stochastic world, she chose her medium as a way "to bring back peace to the world."
Choose to listen to the brilliance of what she has done, you will easily see she has succeeded beyond expectation.
Gentle Friends

"Mercy me what shall I do? Pick up the pieces and see how they fit / mercy me that's what I'll do" from the lyrics of the late Milwaukee troubadour/poet Jim Spencer. "Gentle Friends" has been resurrected from the vinyl archives of the 70's Milwaukee music scene. The influences of Dylan/Baez meet Folk and gospel. This project of Eileen Carr singing the compositions of Jim Spence has been long lost. Now digitally remastered by Justin Matley at Sound Lounge in New York City, the music lives on. With the voices of Jim Spencer and Eileen Carr fading out, you feel the wishes and beliefs of the 60's and 70's era. "With all of our voices united as one, O my gentle friends gather around everyone".
